We’ve been sponsoring some rugby 7’s teams and they have not been doing too badly.
The Samurai Barracudas 7’s team entered the Bournemouth Sevens National Invitation Cup at the end of May and went on to win the tournament. This is quite impressive when you consider this team of enthusiastic and dedicated amateurs beat The Stash Allstars.
The Stash Allstars are a team of professional rugby players who include Delon and Steffon Armitage from the English national rugby team. So for the Samurai Barracudas to beat them in the final was quite an achievement.

Here they are celebrating their win before enjoying a bottle or two of Brothers Festival Pear Cider. Sam Showering, son of Francis, is fifth from the left on the top row.
The other team we have sponsored is the Brothers Sevens International Team, who were entered into the Exeter Sevens tournament on the 20th June. Like the Samurai Barracudas, they performed incredibly well against some very high calibre teams.
The tournament almost went according to plan with the Brothers Sevens International Team getting to the final and losing out to Exeter University in a close game. Exeter University are the current national university champions, so they are not an easy team to beat.

Here they are enjoying a couple of bottles of Brothers Festival Pear Cider at the end of the tournament. Sam Showering is fourth from the right on the top row.
Next stop is the Worthing Sevens on July 25, 2009, where we have entered a Brothers team. The Worthing Sevens is a very established event with many teams taking part from all over the South East.
